Putting children at the centre
Children are central to everything we do at Emerge. Our children’s services are designed to support recovery, development and reconnection after exposure to family violence.
Our child-centred model features:
- Specialist children’s case management
- Trauma-informed therapeutic support
- Support to re-engage with school and community
- Close collaboration with caregivers and educators
We work with children as individuals in their own right, recognising their strengths, voices and needs.

No one would help us. Everyone saw my son as the problem. I was scared he’d end up in jail like his dad.

Why this matters
Early, targeted support helps children regain a sense of safety, rebuild confidence, and return to learning — reducing long-term harm and system involvement.

Early Intervention
Early intervention is one of the most powerful ways to prevent long-term harm for children impacted by family violence. At Emerge, we are sector leaders in child-focused early intervention, designing and delivering evidence-based programs that respond early, reduce risk, and create lasting change for families.
